Chinese Paper Cut

A hot favourite for the festive season. Our Chinese Paper Cut Artist can create beautiful pieces of “春联”also known as “Season’s Greetings”, common in Chinese traditions during the Lunar New Year. Due to the amount of time taken to create a piece, the artist would normally pre-cut 50 pieces of paper cut art featuring advanced designs or 100 pieces of paper cuttings featuring basic design, such as the Chinese zodiac prior to the event so that these can be given at the event while he conducts a detailed live demonstration during the event. We highly recommend this for festive celebrations, racial harmony day, lunar New Year and culture night celebrations.

How long would it take for the artist to cut each piece?

As the artist is doing a live demonstration, only a few pieces would be done (usually complex designs). It usually takes him somewhere from 10 minutes to 20 minutes to cut each design by band - you can rest assure that your guest will have a piece of paper cut to bring home as the artist would prepare 50 to 100 pieces of pre-cut Chinese paper cut art for the audience.

Can the type of paper be changed?

Red is the auspicious colour in Chinese Tradition hence most of our Chinese paper cut art are done on red paper. We can do other types of paper cut such as silhouette paper cut using other colours and types of paper.

What do I need to provide the artist with?

The artist will require 1 desk and 1 chair in a well lit environment.
