Ting Ting Candy

Ting Ting Candy got its name from the ‘Ting Ting’ sound emitted when the candymaker breaks off chunks of candy into bite sized pieces using a metal scalpel and hammer. This candy has a chewing gum-like texture and is sold in little pieces packed into tiny ziplock bags about the size of half a palm. Ting Ting Candy is a snack and a trade that is slowly being displaced by time. A sweet and powdery delight is a preview to the ‘old days’ where street hawkers would station outside of schools and at funfair venues. This snack is great for any Oldies theme party, Carnivals, or any event featuring Singapore’s history or diminishing trades.
