What is Henna?
Henna is a paste made out of crushed leaves and twigs of henna plant and mixing it with hot water. When the paste is applied on the skin (just like writing from a marker) and left for few hours, it leaves an orange to dark maroon stain on the skin which fades away in 7 to 14 days. Natural henna works best on hands, wrists, arms, legs, ankles and feet. Henna stains are the darkest on the palm of the hands, and soles of the feet where the skin is the thickest.

Can I get black or other color from Henna tattoos?
Henna is never black. Henna which produces black colour results most likely contains chemicals (like PPD) for hair dye or other objects which is harmful for your skin.
